We started with the boudin bites and the Jucifier IPA, both were amazing, and for the entrée we had the boiled shrimp, crabs, sausage, corn, and potatoes. The boiled seafood was traditional Louisiana style and very tasty. Spice level was 👌 We were a bit confused as to why none of the crabs had their claws, as they are the best part of the crab.
The shrimp were huge and did not disappoint. Overall, everything was well made. Loved the atmosphere of the place. I wouldn't suggest sitting outside when the mosquitoes are in season - which in my experience is year round. Nasty little boogers.
So glad we went away from the crowd of downtown New Orleans to find this place. We made reservations but got there a little early and were seated right away. The waitress was friendly and didn't skip the beat with service. The food was good and everyone left with full bellies.
Raw oysters were exceptionally fresh and tasty and the fried alligator bites were tender and spicy. I would give service 6 stars since it was excellent, fast and friendly. Don't miss their legendary crawfish boil in season!
Bonus, close to City Park!
Wonderful food, service, and vibes. Ordered the seafood boil platter, a salad, and a dessert to share between 2 people. Hannah was wonderful and helpful navigating our first seafood boil.
The patio was a comfortable volume and lit well.
Come on Margarita night! Came for the seafood boil *ask for the garlic butter and crab butter (it's a naked boil). They were out of blue crab so I asked if they could add in extra shrimp which were nice and large. Also, had the crawfish Mac and boudin. Drinks were strong and atmosphere and service was great!
This place made my birthday special, because of our wonderful server Morgan.
She got us a corn sample to make sure it wasn't too spicy, then helped us learn to eat the crabs from our boil platter. The food was delicious, and I loved my birthday brownie too, that she put a candleon for my birthday! I wish we could go back, but we head back to Michigan tomorrow. I highly recommend this place!
A good start for those who want to try sea food boils New Orleans style. I have tried Asian sea food boils with garlic sauce butter and such...but at Clesi's, their boils have a different flavor, beside a typical flavors, Clesi's has a smoky, hickory almost like cinamony or whatever it is that lingering behind after each bites. We ordered 1/2 &1/2 sample plates with oysters and shrimps. The oysters are small, not impressed. Shrimps are huge. My kid ordered fried cat fish and he shows no emotions for it. So, I give fried food 3 ***.
Seats inside with AC are limited, outside seating are available but with hot weather and the weird strong smell from the outdoor kitchen where they boil sea foods, I give atmosphere 3***.
Staffs are nice and friendly. Our server check up on us at least three times during our stay. For that, 4*** I give.
Oh, we also ordered pasta...try it if you like rich creamy food.
I’m from Houston and I came here with a group of 4 and the food is amazing! We asked our server about the crawfish, and she said that Texas likes to add flavor on the outside, while Louisiana likes to add flavor within. She was right! The crawfish here is SO GOOD. I also tried the jambalaya and crawfish chips and queso and they were super good too!
